What are Track and Race
Bikes?
Race & Track
Bikes are road bikes made for race tracks for racing or track days.
They start as small as 80cc for junior road racing, up to 1300cc, & while they start life as a normal
road-bike or superbikes, they are modified for the track. The most basic transformations to allow a road-bike on a
race track was to just tape up all lights & glass & throw a set of sticky tyres & get on the track for
fun & practice.
Other track bikes are transformed by being stripped of all road gear, modified motors & suspension &
fitted with replica race glass fairings. There are many different forms & series of racing all with different
rules & levels of modifications permitted, all having to conform with the class regulations & pass safety
scrutineering.
There is many types & classes of race & track bikes, from classic road racing, super-sport, super-stock,
superbike, extreme, naked, pro-twins, super-lites, super-monos just to name a few.
Anyone can get into track days on their own registered roadbike, or buy your-self an X-racebike or build your
own track bike. Whether you just get on the track for fun or get serious about racing, your gunna have fun &
maybe even win races.
If your going to do track days or race, your going to need full leathers, back protectors, gloves, boots &
approved helmet.
